I walk, I look, I write—hush of wings, scratch of pen, 
light moving along the path, 
a page warm in my palm, 
small wild moments gathered and held in ink.
Walk with me, slowly—let your noticing open,
 and step into the first field note as it begins.
 

This blog blends imagery, nature, and quiet observation. It grows out of my own slower walks—small encounters, pauses in light and weather, moments I carry back as notes, sketches, and fragments held in ink and attention. Field Notes: April, Passing Through

A quiet ordinary walk afternoon   - a folded note at the edge of the page    As I walk through the park, time softens around me. Birds chirp from unseen branches, their voices weaving lightly through the air.   ———   The sun rests gently on my skin, warm without insisting, while a delicate wind passes by — a quiet whisper brushing leaves along the path. New leaves are unfolding in shades of light green, tender and translucent, catching the light as if still learning how to be leaves. Above me, clouds move slowly, gliding quietly across an open sky. Nothing feels hurried. Nature plays its quiet rhythm — steady, unforced — and I find myself walking in time with it. I pass mothers with children, small hands tugging forward, voices bright with play. A little further on, a walker pauses beside an old dog, grey around the muzzle. We stop together for a moment. March Quiet Observation

Early Signs of Spring   Written beginning of March and finished end of month Cold again this morning. The air catches in my throat when I step outside. The ground still feels winter‑hard, holding on longer than expected. Later, the weather changes. Not dramatically — just enough. Light shifts. The sun stays. Warmth settles in places that were grey an hour ago. I walk without thinking much about where I’m going. Garden first. Then the street. Then the park. Colour begins to show up everywhere, quietly, as if it has been waiting.     Hyacinths near the path — lilac and light purple. Their scent reaches me before I notice the flowers themselves. It lingers longer than expected. A small almond tree. Mostly bare. Branches thin and exposed. Tiny pink buds appear only if I stand still long enough. Forsythia further on.
